NeuroAtlas:
Autism & ADHD Assessment
The Ultimate Neurodevelopmental Assessment.
At last…Atlas.
Our most advanced and comprehensive neurodevelopment assessment.
When families suspect both ADHD and autism, a standard assessment often isn’t enough.
NeuroAtlas combines our state-of-the-art ADHD and autism evaluation into a single, integrated pathway designed to give families clarity, answers, and a pathway forward.
The Mind of Your Child is a Universe Waiting To be Unlocked.
When a child is struggling, it’s easy to feel trapped.
The questions can feel endless…
Why do some things seem impossibly hard, yet other things come so naturally?
Why are friendships difficult?
Why do routines become battles?
Why does school feel overwhelming for a child who is clearly intelligent?
Many families arrive at this point after years of uncertainty: Navigating schools, advice from well-meaning relatives, online research, and long waiting lists.
They know something deeper may be going on, but they still lack a clear explanation.
NeuroAtlas™ was created for exactly this moment.
At Bay Paediatrics, NeuroAtlas is our most comprehensive neurodevelopment assessment .
Combining our leading ADHD and ASD (autism) pathways, NeuroAtlas is designed to understand the full landscape of a child’s brain and development when ADHD, autism, or overlapping neurodivergent traits may be present.
Rather than looking at one condition in isolation, NeuroAtlas maps the whole picture.
This helps families to finally understand how their child’s mind works, why certain challenges occur, and what will help them thrive.
“Is it ADHD? Is it autism? Is it something we’d never even heard of?! Then…we got ALL the answers and more.”
Pam, mum of 9-year-old
A Bespoke Approach for a Unique Mind.
Many neurodivergent children do not fit neatly into a single category.
A child may show traits of ADHD and autism.
They may appear socially capable in some environments but struggle in others.
They may be exceptionally bright but unable to organise schoolwork or manage emotions.
This complexity is why many families feel their child has been misunderstood for years.
Traditional assessments often focus narrowly on one condition at a time.
But children’s brains rarely work that way.
NeuroAtlas was designed to reflect the real complexity of neurodevelopment.
Our approach explores the full range of factors that influence a child’s functioning: attention, executive functioning, social communication, emotional regulation, sensory processing, learning profiles, and more.
By mapping these patterns together, we can see what others may have missed.
“For the first time, I felt like someone saw my son for who he is, not just his challenges.
Rachel, Mum of 7-Year-Old
Every Journey Needs A Map
Before families come to Bay Paediatrics, many have been carrying the same quiet worries for years.
They describe a child who is bright, curious, and capable, yet everyday life often feels far harder than it should.
Parents often say things like:
“My child is so intelligent, but school seems overwhelming.”
“They try so hard to fit in socially, but friendships are confusing.”
“Simple routines turn into big battles.”
“Some teachers understand them, but others think they’re just not trying.”
“I know there is something deeper going on, but I can’t quite explain it.”
Many families have already tried multiple strategies.
They may have spoken with teachers, counsellors, or other professionals.
Some have even been told that their child will simply “grow out of it.”
But deep down, parents know their child is not lazy, defiant, or careless.
Their brain simply works differently.
The difficulty is that without a clear explanation, families are often left navigating these challenges alone.
NeuroAtlas was designed to provide the clarity that parents have been searching for.
NeuroAtlas is the breakthrough.
For many parents, the most powerful outcome of a comprehensive assessment isn’t simply the diagnosis…it’s the understanding that follows.
When families gain a clearer picture of how their child’s brain works, everyday struggles begin to make sense.
Suddenly, behaviours that once felt confusing or frustrating have an explanation. Parents begin to see patterns where there once felt like chaos. This shift in understanding often changes the entire dynamic within the family.
Parents feel more confident in how they support their child.
Children often feel relief when their experiences are finally understood.
Teachers and schools are able to respond with strategies that actually help.
Rather than trying to change who a child is, families can begin focusing on how to support the way their child’s brain works best.
For many children, this becomes the moment when things start to improve.
Understanding Your Child’s Brain Changes Everything
For many families, NeuroAtlas is the moment when years of confusion begin to make sense.
By mapping how a child’s brain works across attention, social communication, learning, and emotional regulation, we help families finally see the whole picture.
This isn’t about “fixing” your child (they’re not broken).
It’s about understanding them deeply— whether they have ADHD, Autism, or a mix of neurodevelopmental conditions —and giving them the tools to shine.
Here’s what the NeuroAtlas Assessment delivers:
The Most Comprehensive ADHD and autism Evaluation: We bring all the deep expertise from our paediatricians and child & adolescent psychiatrists, combine our ADHD ‘Illuminate’ and Autism ‘Horizon’ assessments and give you unparalleled insights into your child’s mind.
A Personalised Roadmap: You’ll get a detailed report with clear, practical strategies for home, school, and strategies tailored to address emotional regulation, sensory challenges, behaviours, sleep & bedtimes, learning, communication and everything in between.
Empowerment for You: We guide you through the results, so you can advocate confidently for your child with teachers, healthcare professionals, relatives, etc.
A Path to Progress: Better understanding and clear, practical insights into how your child’s mind operates, and what they need to become the best version of themselves. This is where you can the world through your child’s eyes and learn the best ways to empower them.
This is for parents who want their child to learn with enlightenment, explore with curiosity, grow with confidence and walk into every day without fear or feeling misunderstood.
You no longer have to keep waiting, watching your child struggle or searching the internet and debating: “Is it autism? Is it ADHD? Is it something else?”
The cost of inaction is more sleepless nights, more walking on eggshells, more confusion, more stand-downs, more meltdowns, more missed opportunities…
…and the cost keeps rising. So it’s time to explore a different path.
Here’s How The NeuroAtlas Autism & ADHD Assessment Works
When it comes to unlocking your child’s future, we like to keep things simple.
First, you complete the simple form here to apply for the NeuroAtlas combined Autism & ADHD assessment . Then this is what happens next:
Step One: A Comprehensive Data Gathering & Analysis Process.
Once you request an assessment for your child, we guarantee to reply and launch the process within 48 hours.
The first step is to run a comprehensive data gathering exercise where we analyse and evaluate information about your child’s strengths, challenges and how they see the world.
This information is gathered from teachers and parents using marketing-leading psychometrics (questionnaires) to understand exactly how your child is learning in the classroom, and obtaining secondary information such as school reports
Once the information has been gathered, our medical team - including Developmental Paediatricians and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists will review the data.
We will then advise you of our recommendations and next steps. We will either approve your child for a NeuroAtlas Autism & ADHD assessment, or recommend you have a standalone ADHD or autism assessment. Take your time, talk it over. Then, when you’re ready to proceed, we’ll add your child to our waiting list.
We take this extra step up front at no charge to you, because nothing is more important to us than putting your child on the right pathway for success: We wouldn’t let any family invest time and money in any assessment unless there was clear evidence that it would be beneficial to them.
Step Two: The NeuroAtlas Combined Autism & ADHD Assessment
To provide a fully comprehensive assessment of your child’s mind and their neurodevelopmental needs, the NeuroAtlas Assessment is split across three separate appointments, which usually happen on different days:
Part 1: Digital ADHD Screening
This is our market-leading digital online assessment tool to objectively measure the three core ADHD symptoms: hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattentiveness.
The results will be analysed by our leading Developmental Paediatrician, Dr Sarah Moll: One of New Zealand’s leading child neurodevelopmental experts.
Bay Paediatrics is the only private paediatric clinic in New Zealand to incorporate this test into a child ADHD assessment.
It provides a truly objective, scientifically proven insight into how your child’s brain works. This means you get to see the real data, not the opinions of teachers or relatives who ‘don’t believe in ADHD’
Part 2: Developmental Evaluation
This is a 90-minute, consultation with one of our expert Developmental Paediatricians or Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists.
A deep-dive evaluation with the chiId and their caregivers, this appointment covers parent & school insights and behaviour observations to gather comprehensive data on your child’s neurodevelopment, daily life, strengths and challenges.
We use world-class tools and techniques to analyse the neurological patterns of your child and truly understand how they see, respond to and interact with the world around them.
At this point, we can deliver an ADHD diagnosis and discuss medication options with you.
Part 3: ASD Assessment
This is an in-depth ASD consultation that reveals a deeper awareness of your child’s strengths, challenges, and needs.
We will also conduct the MIGDAS-2 assessment: A sensory-based clinical tool that helps us understand how a young person experiences communication, social connection, and the world around them in a natural, child-centred way.
Unlike the ‘one size fits all’ assessments of other clinics - which often miss children whose autism presents in more subtle or complex ways - the NeuroAtlas ASD method enables us to look beyond checklists and labels, so your child’s lived experience and strengths meaningfully inform our clinical understanding.
Part Four: The Map To Succeed.
Other clinics will give parents a diagnosis and point them towards the door. Then they get home, ask “now what do we do?!” and feel more lost than ever before.
Not at Bay Paediatrics. Once the assessments are completed, you will be invited to a 60-minute ‘outcomes and roadmap with our expert neurodevelopmental practitioner. This is included in you assessment fee, because we want to give every family a clear roadmap ahead and the answers
They will walk you through the findings of the assessment, answer your questions, and give you the insights you need to be confident about giving your child the best possible support in their future learning.
Finally, you will receive the bespoke assessment report for your child, this is a deep-dive into the results of the assessment and is also packed with insights, strategies, and recommendations you can use immediately at home and school.
You will also be invited to join our EPIC Families community of VIPs (Very Important Parents) who get expert guidance and support to solve their ongoing questions and challenges. It’s a room full of people like you, who have experienced everything you’ve been through, and know exactly how to get through it and keep you on track with dyslexia or other neurodiverse challenges

You Don’t Need Another Strategy. You Need Answers.
This is what NeuroAtlas clarity feels like…for your home, your child and your family.
Right now, you're guessing.
Guessing why mornings explode. Guessing what the school keeps getting wrong. Guessing whether you're too soft, too strict, or somehow both.
The NeuroAtlas Assessment ends the guessing.
That’s why it’s famous for being the comprehensive combined child ADHD and Autism assessment in New Zealand:A deep, expert look at exactly how your child's brain is wired, what's driving the meltdowns, the school struggles, the sleepless nights, the walking-on-eggshells feeling that never quite goes away.
What you get isn't a label…it's a map. A clear, jargon-free picture of your child's unique neurological profile, paired with specific, practical strategies for home and school that finally make sense of everything you've been living.
You'll walk out knowing what to say to the teacher who keeps calling. Knowing how to structure mornings so they don't end in tears. Knowing you're not a bad parent, you've just been parenting without the right information.
NeuroAtlas doesn't just assess your child. It hands you back your confidence.
Sound Familiar…?
Mornings feel like a battle you never win: The same meltdown, the same tears, the same guilt on the drive to school.
You've been called by the school so many times that your stomach drops when you see their number on your phone.
Your child is bright, funny, and full of potential at home…but something keeps going wrong in the classroom, and nobody seems to know why.
You've read the books, tried the strategies, sat through the parent evenings…and you still feel like you're one bad day away from falling apart.
You're not sure if what you're seeing is ADHD, Autism, both, or neither… and the uncertainty is exhausting in itself.
Your child has been called "naughty," "disruptive," or "a handful" by people who've never once asked what's actually going on for them.
You and your partner keep having the same argument about how to handle things..because without a real diagnosis, you're both just guessing.
You lie awake replaying the day, wondering if you missed something, pushed too hard, or let them down again.
You've watched your other children quietly absorb the chaos and you worry about what it's costing them too.
Something in your gut has been telling you for a long time that your child's brain works differently…and you're ready to finally know for sure.
…Here’s What Changes
Mornings still aren't perfect..but you know why they're hard, and you have a specific plan that actually fits how your child's brain works.
When the school calls, you're no longer on the back foot. You have the information and the confidence to advocate clearly for your child.
You finally understand what's been going wrong in the classroom and so does the teacher. Your child stops being "the difficult one" and starts being properly supported.
You stop second-guessing every parenting decision. You're not too soft or too strict..you're informed, and that changes everything.
The question of ADHD, Autism, or both is answered. The uncertainty that's been quietly draining you is gone.
Your child has a name for how their brain works, and so do you. The word "naughty" no longer has anywhere to land.
You and your partner are finally reading from the same page. The arguments about how to handle things ease, because now you both understand what you're actually dealing with.
The guilt that kept you awake at night starts to lift. You didn't miss something. You didn't fail them. You just needed the full picture.
Your other children get more of you, because you're no longer running on empty trying to solve a puzzle with half the pieces missing.
That gut feeling you've carried for years? It was right. And now you have the answers to prove it…and the roadmap to move forward.
“The report was a game-changer. We finally understood why our daughter struggled so much. She’s so much calmer, and our family is FUN again. I wish we’d done this sooner”
Emma, Parent of an 9-Year-Old

The Journey From Chaos To Confidence
Private assessments are an investment. But here’s the truth: the cost of not knowing is far higher.
When a child’s needs remain unidentified, they can spend years being misunderstood and mislabelled. The emotional, academic, and mental health consequences compound quickly:
Escalating meltdowns and behavioural challenges
Increased school refusal or suspension
Loss of confidence and self-worth
Social struggles and friendship issues
Chronic anxiety, depression, or oppositional behaviours
Missed opportunities for early intervention that works
In contrast, a timely and accurate assessment can unlock the shackles holding your child back, enable targeted interventions, and stop the cycle of failure and frustration.
New Zealand's public system is under immense pressure. The waitlist for even a standalone ADHD or autism assessment can range from 12 months to over 3 years, depending on your region.
That’s 1-3 years of watching your child struggle.
NeuroAtlas assessments are more accurate, more focused on your child’s individual needs, and much faster.
You get answers now. Not when it’s too late.

While Bay Paediatrics is affiliated with Southern Cross, parents/caregivers are still required to pay assessment fees in advance and then discuss any reimbursement directly with their insurance provider.
We are unable to apply for prior approval for ADHD or ASD assessments. We are aware that, on occasion, Southern Cross customer service teams may provide inaccurate or inconsistent information regarding this process.
Regardless of your insurance provider, the standard process is that parents/caregivers cover the assessment fees upfront and then submit a claim to their insurer.
We can provide detailed invoices and supporting letters to assist with this process; however, as insurance policies vary, this discussion must take place directly between you and your insurer. -
For NeuroAtlas, a child must be aged between 6 - 17 (i.e after their sixth birthday and before their 17th birthday).
Standalone ASD assessments can be delivered for children aged five and upwards.
