We want to give your child the future they deserve.
Transforming ADHD & Autism healthcare
We are a leading New Zealand clinic specialising in diagnosing and treating ADHD while recognising and identifying other neurodiverse conditions such as Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in holistic 360 assessments. Nothing is more important to us than your child’s health and the happy future of your family.
We make it our mission to give you clarity, confidence and certainty regarding your child’s neurological health. As one of the few clinics who can diagnose ADHD and - if required - prescribe appropriate medication, we can give you a clear and rapid answer to a question you have probably been asking yourselves for a while: Does my child have ADHD?
A transformational approach
It is important to understand that once a child has been diagnosed with ADHD, that diagnosis will stay with them for life.
Therefore, we leave nothing to chance. Bay Paediatrics performs a comprehensive assessment which we call the ‘ADHD360’ approach that includes subjective and objective measures of your child’s strengths and difficulties alongside a comprehensive face to face assessment with you and your child.
The ADHD 36O Model
The first step is to deliver a Diagnostic Assessment with your child. This comes in three parts.
Data Gathering: As part of the intake information subjective information is gathered from teachers and parents this include approved psychometrics (questionnaires) specifically looking for features of ADHD.
QB Check: Unfortunately these subjective measures alone don’t give a complete picture of a patient’s (potential) ADHD presentation and are subject to bias and ambiguity. ADHD shares its core symptoms with other conditions, and symptoms in females differ from those of males, making accurate assessment difficult with standard subjective measures. That is why we are the only private clinic in New Zealand to have incorporated ‘QB Check’ as an objective measure of your child’s ADHD symptoms.
QB Check is CE marked, TGA registered, and FDA cleared for use as an aid in the assessment and treatment evaluation of ADHD.
QB Check is the first digital ADHD test identifying a patient’s likelihood of having ADHD-like symptoms.
Test results are instantly generated and presented in a report that indicates how a patient’s performance compares to individuals of the same age and sex, without ADHD.
Diagnostic Consultation: You will be invited to a face to face consultation with your child/adolescent to gather more detailed information on your child’s neurodevelopmental history including medical history. This is where we emphasise the importance of the assessment not being a stand alone ADHD assessment but also looking for other comorbidities / cause of your child / adolescent’s symptoms to include Trauma and Attachment difficulties, Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We we can arrange a plan to support and address these which may involve signposting to another clinician/ therapist.

Diagnostic Assessment
A comprehensive diagnosis of your child to check for ADHD and ASD. This process uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative assessment tools to create a comprehensive and clear picture of your child’s neurobehavioral health.
To provide a fully comprehensive assessment of your child’s neurodevelopmental needs, the Diagnostic Assessment is split into two parts:
Part 1: Data Gathering: Obtaining and analysing data from the child’s teachers & caregivers.
Part 2: QB Check. This is the market-leading (CE marked, TGA registered, and FDA cleared) online assessment tool to objectively measure the three core ADHD symptoms. It is a digital test that Dr Moll will deliver with the patient.
The total appointment time is approximately 45 minutes.
Part 3: Diagnostic Consultation. This is an in-depth consultation that the Paediatric Consultant will deliver with the patient and their caregiver. At the end of this consultation, the Consultant will review all the data that has been obtained and provide you with further information (including an ADHD diagnosis, if applicable) and recommended next steps.
The total appointment time is approximately 90 minutes.
Parents/carers and teachers of the child will be required to complete a number of pre-consultation assessments to create a full and holistic diagnosis of your child’s behaviour.
After the Diagnostic Assessment is complete, you will receive a diagnostic result and action plan during the meeting.

Autism (ASD) Assessment
At Bay Paediatrics we recognise the importance of multidisciplinary assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
If ASD is suspected during your child’s Diagnostic Consultation, we will inform you of this outcome and recommend a further ASD Assessment.
ASD Assessments are separate consultations because they ideally need to be supported by additional assessments or professionals including a Psychologist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist. This will be determined by the needs of the child or adolescent.
90 mins | Price upon quotation.
Prescription
Your Paediatric Consultant will inform you whether the Diagnostic Assessment indicates that a course of prescription medication would be beneficial for your child.
If prescription medication is an option for you, you will be provided with information that outlines the treatment, the effects, benefits, and what to expect. We are mindful that an ADHD diagnosis stays with a child into adulthood and for the rest of their lives, so there is no pressure for you to decide on the spot and you are encouraged to discuss this privately as a family.
If you decide that prescription medication is the way forward, then you can also obtain your prescription from the Bay Paediatrics Clinic. There is no need for you to endure a lengthy additional wait in the public health system.

Follow-Up
As children grow and develop, their needs can change. It is important to regularly monitor and check in with your child to ensure they have the optimal balance of prescription and non-prescription treatment. Plus, this is when we can also liaise with parents and carers to ensure you are being heard and that you are getting all the support you need.
Should your child be offered a trial of medication we recommend a follow-up appointment 6 weeks after initiation of medication and this may be needed sooner if there are any concerns that arise.
Should anything change with your child’s condition or you wish to be seen sooner, you can contact the clinic to book an appointment
