The Bay Paediatrics Difference

  • Medication

We are one of the few clinics that truly provide a specialised ’all-in-one’ for your child’s neurodiverse health. This means we can immediately prescribe ADHD medication for your child if required.

Other specialists (e.g. Child Psychologists) might be able to diagnose ADHD, but they do not have the power to prescribe medication. This means many family still have to endure a lengthy wait in the public healthcare system even if they obtain a private diagnosis.

If medication is a suitable option for you, then you can also obtain your prescription from the Bay Paediatrics Clinic. This means you can quickly move forward as a family with confidence about the future.

  • Follow-up

As children grow and develop, their needs can change. It’s important to regularly monitor and check in with your child to ensure they have the optimal balance of prescription and non-prescription treatment. Plus, this is when we can also liaise with parents and carers to ensure you are behind heard and that you’re getting all the support you need.

Should you choose to start your child on medication at the initial appointment we recommend a follow up at 6 weeks. After this the appointments can be at your discretion.

If anything changes with your child’s condition or you wish to be seen sooner, you can contact the clinic to book an appointment.

  • Coaching & Support

Bay Paediatrics delivers the EPIC Families programme. EPIC stands for Extraordinary Parents & Incredible Children.

We give families practical, useful guidance, support and tools that will make a real difference at home and at school. This includes the EPIC Families podcast, events, online community and learning resources.

EPIC families was created because too many families feel ignored, forgotten and misunderstood. But you are not alone. We’re launching a movement: A neurodiversity revolution. This is where we give you the ingredients create strength in neurodiversity to become an EPIC family.

How It Works

No matter what support you need, the first step is to fill out a new patient application. Please note our minimum age for ADHD assessments is 6 years old.

Step One

Select Book Appointment and complete the consultation form. Please ensure you provide accurate contact details.

The Clinic will then contact you by email within 48 hours and send some forms to complete, along with forms for your child’s teacher to complete.

Please ensure the forms are completed electronically and submitted.

Step Two

Our medical team will then review the data and recommend the right steps for your child. We do this for all applications, for free .

We do this to save you time and money - we wouldn’t let any family book an ADHD or Autism assessments if their child wasn’t showing enough evidence of neurodiversity symptoms.

Step Three

We will contact you to either offer you an appointment or to advise of suitable next steps to get the support you need for your child.

This could include an ADHD or Autism assessment, or a Neurodiversity Navigator session with our child psychologist.

Any cancellations or reschedules must be given with at least 48 hours notice

“We underestimated how stressful and overwhelming an ADHD journey can be, but with Dr. Moll’s help, we are a happy, thriving family again”

Our Booking Policy

Please Read

There is currently a huge demand for ADHD and Autism assessments in New Zealand. This causes frustration, stress, and anxiety for children and their families.

To ensure our quality and care levels are the highest in the country, Bay Paediatrics exclusively uses Paediatric Consultants that have devoted their careers to specialise in child neurodiversity. We are fun people, but we take your child’s health and the future of your family extremely seriously. We prioritise your child’s ADHD / Autism assessment, and we ask you to do the same.

When patients do not show up for their appointments, this not only harms the child in question, but also wastes the time of a highly-trained and specialist professional. This is time that could have been spent helping another family on our waiting list.

Therefore, we ask families to secure their appointment by paying for their Diagnostic Assessment within 24 hours of booking. Payments can be made by debit or credit card, or bank transfer.

Of course, we understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to reschedule your appointment you can do so for free a minimum of 48 hours in advance (excluding weekends). If you need to change your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, this will incur a $200 + GST administration charge.
