Child ADHD Assessments:

Confidence in a Brighter Future

Clarity, Certainty and Confidence for the Future.

The Ultimate ADHD Assessment for Children.

The waiting is over. It’s time to get the ADHD Assessment your child deserves

Our comprehensive ADHD assessment provides the insights, guidance, and actionable solutions you need to support your child’s growth and success—all delivered with care, expertise, and precision.

Bay Paediatrics can assess, diagnose and prescribe ADHD medication. We deliver an industry-leading service at record-breaking speed to give you everything you need to thrive as a family.

A Transformational Approach to ADHD Diagnosis and Treatment.

Once a child has been diagnosed with ADHD, that diagnosis will stay with them for the rest of their life.

That’s why we make it our mission to give you clarity, certainty and confidence regarding your child’s neurological health. As one of the few clinics who can diagnose ADHD and - if required - prescribe appropriate medication, we can give you a clear and rapid answer to a question you have probably been asking yourselves for a while:  Does my child have ADHD?

Bay Paediatrics performs a comprehensive assessment which we call the ‘ADHD360’™ approach that includes subjective and objective measures of your child’s strengths and difficulties alongside a comprehensive face-to-face assessment with you and your child, delivered by leading Paediatric Consultants.

Why Choose our ADHD Assessment?

Parenting a child with ADHD can feel overwhelming. You may be constantly second-guessing yourself, wondering if their struggles are just "normal spirited child behaviour" or something more. Meanwhile, the waitlists for public assessments are endless, the choices of clinics and specialists are overwhelming, and you're left feeling stuck.

You may feel like you’re constantly walking on eggshells, unsure how to help your child manage big emotions, meltdowns, poor attention or disruptive behaviour. Meanwhile, teachers may express concerns…but being seen, heard and understood feels impossible.

We get it. We’ve been there. And we're on a mission to help.

Our industry-leading ADHD assessment provides clear answers, medication and an expert-backed plan to help your child thrive—so you can stop guessing and start seeing real progress. ADHD is what we do:

Fast, Accurate Answers. No More Guesswork: You don’t need to “hope things get better on their own”. When your child is struggling, waiting months (or years) for an assessment isn’t an option.  We provide a fast, accurate diagnosis, giving you the insights you need without the frustrating delays.

With decades of experience working with neurodiverse children and their families, we offer more than an assessment—we provide clarity, certainty and confidence that will help you create the future your child deserves.

Uncover the Root Causes of Behavioural Challenges: ADHD often looks like defiance, mood swings, or "bad behaviour," but it’s actually a difficulty with impulse control and emotional regulation. Our assessment goes beyond surface-level symptoms to help you understand why your child struggles—and what you can do about it.

A Personalised Roadmap - Not Just a Label: We don’t just give you a diagnosis and send you on your way. You’ll receive a tailored report with practical strategies to help your child:

  • Manage emotions and reduce outbursts

  • Improve focus and cooperation at school

  • Develop self-control and better social interactions

  • Strengthen family relationships with effective parenting tools

Science-Backed, Gold-Standard Testing: We are the only paediatric clinic in New Zealand to use advanced digital and clinical tools, including objective assessments that go beyond checklists and guesswork. Our advanced approach measures attention, impulse control, and executive function to ensure the most accurate diagnosis possible.

Expert Guidance & Ongoing Support: Understanding ADHD is just the beginning. We offer continued guidance to help you navigate therapy options, school accommodations, and parenting techniques, ensuring long-term success.

The Revolutionary ADHD Clinic in Bay of Plenty…Bay Paediatrics’ groundbreaking service is a gamechanger for families who face a two-year wait in the public system for ADHD diagnosis and treatment”

Redefining The Standards of ADHD Assessment.

In our mission to become New Zealand’s leading child neurodiversity clinic, we chose to create the country’s foremost child ADHD Assessment.

We took decades of paediatric and psychological knowledge, combined it with world-class proven scientific research and added cutting-edge technology.

And the result was ADHD360™: An extraordinary ADHD assessment to improve everyday life for children and their families.

What To Expect From The ADHD360™ Assessment

ADHD is forever. The sooner we identify it, the sooner your child can become who they were always meant to be.

Therefore, we leave nothing to chance. Bay Paediatrics performs a comprehensive assessment which we call the ‘ADHD360’™ approach that includes subjective and objective measures of your child’s strengths and difficulties alongside a comprehensive face to face assessment with you and your child.

ADHD360 is designed to give you everything you need: Clarity, Certainty and Confidence….

without the pain of waiting, wondering, feeling overlooked, going back-and-forth, being told to book yet more appointments while emotions are running high and life at home or school is deteriorating.

Here’s How It Works

The process is simple.

First, you complete the simple form to apply for an ADHD assessment. Then this is what happens next:

Step One: A Comprehensive Evaluation Process.

Once you request an ADHD assessment for your child, we guarantee to reply and launch the process within 48 hours.

The first step is to run a deep-dive research procedure where we gather and evaluate information about your child’s strengths and the challenges they are experiencing.

This information is gathered from teachers and parents using marketing-leading psychometrics (questionnaires) specifically looking for features of ADHD.

Once the information has been gathered, our medical team will review the data.

We will then advise you of our recommendations and next steps. This may include proceeding to offer an ADHD assessment or a consultation with our child psychologist.

Nothing is more important to us than putting your child on the right pathway for success: We wouldn’t let any family invest time and money in an ADHD assessment unless their child was displaying ADHD characteristics.

Step Two: The ADHD360 Assessment.

To provide a fully comprehensive assessment of your child’s neurodevelopmental needs, the ADHD360™ Assessment is split into two parts:

Part 1: QBCheck.

Most New Zealand ADHD assessments rely on forms, questionnaires and observations from parents, teachers and professionals. Unfortunately these subjective measures alone don’t give a complete picture of a child’s (potential) ADHD presentation and are subject to bias and ambiguity.

ADHD shares its core symptoms with other conditions, and symptoms in females differ from those of males, making accurate assessment difficult with standard subjective measures. That is why we are the only private clinic in New Zealand to have incorporated the groundbreaking ‘QBCheck’ as an objective measure of your child’s ADHD symptoms.

  • QBCheck is CE marked, TGA registered, and FDA cleared for use as an aid in the assessment and treatment evaluation of ADHD.

  • QBCheck is the first digital ADHD test identifying a patient’s likelihood of having ADHD-like symptoms.

  • Test results are instantly generated and presented in a clear and visual report that indicates how a patient’s performance compares to individuals of the same age and sex, without ADHD.

The QBCheck is a 45 minute face-to-face appointment with a paediatric specialist.

Part 2: Diagnostic Consultation.

You will then be invited to 90-minute face-to-face appointment with our Paediatric Consultant and your child to gather more detailed information on their neurodevelopmental and medical history.

This is where we go further than a standard ADHD assessment, emphasising the importance of discovering and understanding other causes of your child or adolescent’s symptoms, including Trauma and Attachment difficulties, Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

At the end of this consultation, the Paediatric Consultant will review and summarise all the data that has been obtained and provide you with a clear outcome and recommended next steps.

If an ADHD diagnosis is delivered and you all agree that medication is a suitable next step, you can be issued a prescription immediately and this is included in the assessment fee. If you wish to go home and discuss treatment options as a family, you can request a prescription at a later date and this will still be included in your original assessment fee.

Within a week of your Diagnostic Consultation, you will receive your in-depth consultation letter and diagnostic report. This is a comprehensive analysis of every aspect of your child’s ADHD assessment, and contains bespoke recommendations and next steps to help your family thrive.

Step Three: Ongoing Guidance & Support.

An ADHD diagnosis might be the end of the search, but it’s only the start of the journey.

The first question families ask after a diagnosis is, “what do we do now?!”. That’s why we’re committed to giving your family the tools, techniques, habits and mindset to help your child conquer challenges every day, in their own way:

Follow up consultations: No need to wait for a GP, you can see your Bay Paediatrics paediatrician to review and adjust your medication or treatments to ensure your child is always getting the optimal support.

Strategies to thrive: Our Neurodiversity Navigator sessions are delivered by our expert child psychologist. These deliver tailored strategies and interventions to support your child at home and at school, and can be fine-tuned as your child develops.

Coaching & Community: Bay Paediatrics offers an online community for parents with neurodiverse children. This includes resources and tools to help you communicate with your children, a supportive online group, Zoom training sessions, coaching and events.

Is An ADHD Assessment The Right Choice For Your Child?

Our ADHD360™ assessment is designed for parents who:

  • Notice challenges with their child’s emotions, focus, behaviour, or impulsivity.

  • Receive feedback from school that their child is struggling in the classroom and / or socially

  • Are unsure whether their child’s struggles are related to ADHD.

  • Want expert guidance to ensure their child receives the support they need.

  • Are waiting for assessment in the public system but feel like they’re getting nowhere.

  • Already have some form of diagnosis or indication of ADHD, but feel like need a deep-dive to really understand what’s happening for their child, and get a strategy to help them.

  • Want to stop feeling guilty that they’re ‘getting it wrong’ or are feeling overwhelmed and confused about how to help their child.

It’s Time to Think Differently About Child Neurodiversity

We created Bay Paediatrics because we believe no family deserves to wait, struggle, or feel overwhelmed, overlooked & ignored.

That’s why we’re proudly revolutionising the way ADHD is assessed and treated in New Zealand.

The ‘Old Way’ isn’t working…

  • Endless waiting and hoping.

  • Feeling like nobody is listening, responding, taking action or taking you seriously.

  • Slow processes, endless paper form filling, and more waiting.

  • Relying on the subjective views and bias of teachers and others that don’t reflect what you know is really happening for your child.

  • Always ‘one more appointment’...and still not getting answers.

  • Unclear prices & hidden fees for initial appointments, then second appointments, then prescription appointments.

  • Being told: “we can diagnose, but you’ll need to go somewhere else for medication”.

  • Waiting months for a diagnostic report that’s vague, confusing, and offers no real insight or guidance.

  • Paying thousands of dollars for private assessments and still not getting an answer or seeing any improvements.

  • Finally getting a diagnosis and then asking, “Now what do we do?!”

  • Guilt, shame, and feeling like you’re failing as a parent.

The Bay Paediatrics Way

  • Once you apply for an ADHD assessment for your child, we will reply and launch your diagnostic journey within 48 hours, guaranteed.

  • We gather the right data fast. Everything is completed and submitted online. No paper forms, no printing & scanning, no snail mail.

  • We review the information you and your child’s teacher provide, and recommend next steps for free.

  • We only offer your child an ADHD assessment if they are displaying strong signs of ADHD. If we feel an ADHD assessment is not the right path, we will recommend and deliver alternative support to you.

  • Everything is completed in two face-to-face consultations. These appointments typically happen 2 - 3 weeks apart.

  • We’re the only paediatric clinic in New Zealand to offer a digital, objective ADHD assessment that reveals the unbiased truth about what is happening for your child.

  • You get a clear, decisive answer at the end of the second consultation.

  • If it’s determined that medication could help your child, you can get your prescription at the end of the second consultation.

  • A comprehensive, in-depth report in plain English that reveals everything that’s happening for your child, and gives you clear next steps for the future.

  • One fee that covers everything. All data gathering & analysis, all appointments, all prescriptions.

  • You have us in your corner from day one. We give you podcasts, events, a community and online resources to help you feel confident, supported, seen and heard.
